TASTE MTL 2013: Late Night Menus

Pastaga3

If you haven’t already heard the news, the second edition of TASTE MTL takes place November 1-11, showcasing over 100 restaurants around Montreal featuring signature fixed price and table d’hote menus. Late night diners can now take part in the culinary party, as the 2013 edition of this restaurant week sees the addition of a late night menu by a handful a restaurants…

For the delectable price of $19, diners are welcomed after 9pm to enjoy a multi-course tasting menu. Here’s a few that look promising:

Pastaga

Pastaga in Montreal’s Mile-End district is headed by Chef Martin Juneau and was voted Canada’s best new restaurant in 2012 by enRoute Magazine. Pastaga highlights local and seasonal produce, which inspires a menu to match. His contribution to the late night grub hunters is a dish of organic marinated salmon and a Jewish deli inspired chopped liver.

Bar Tapas Taza Flores in the Plateau is providing probably the most bang for the buck in the category of restaurants offering a late night menu. With Chef Harry Marciano putting up twelve dishes to choose from that include, Maple poached pear salad, ginger, white wine, gorgonzola and pine nuts, Tilapia ceviche, coconut milk, maple water reduction and Grilled chorizo, onion jam and homemade piri-piri sauce; it makes it hard to just settle on three.

Valois2

Le Valois is a bustling Paris inspired bistro that sits in the heart of the Hochelaga-Maisonneuve area of the city. Chef Denis Peyrat is tantalizing late night eaters with a generous two-course menu which includes an oxtail jelly, celery remoulade, Calamari “a la plancha”, squid ink, piquillos or Steak sandwich, caramelized red onions, served with fries or salad to name a few.

Continental TASTE MTL

Le Continental has been a mainstay on the St-Denis strip since 1987 featuring cuisine based on the Languedoc region of France. The team of Chefs Julien Rochard and Nicholas Monhier are inviting diners to try their rustic French dishes such as the fried goat cheese ravioli and braised pork served on a farm house bread. Be sure to make reservations for November 6, as members of the Opéra de Montréal will be serenading diners as of 8pm.
